Rep. Eric Swalwell achieved brand new levels of idiocy Tuesday when he accused Republicans of wanting to ban interracial marriage as soon as they’re done outlawing infanticide.
Which, I suppose, would be problematic for Swalwell - if a) it were at all true, and b) he wanted to marry someone of a different race. But given that the California Democrat only casually sleeps around with Chinese spies (no rings involved, that we know of), and given that the GOP hasn't given any indication whatsoever that they're looking to get rid of inter-ethnic nuptials, it looks like Swalwell's claim holds an awful lot of hot air...but no water.
Nevertheless, that didn't stop him from jumping that particular shark over on Twitter.
“The Republicans won’t stop with banning abortion. They want to ban interracial marriage. Do you want to save that? Well, then you should probably vote,” Swalwell tweeted, along with a link to a DNC-run website where people can register to vote.
The pro-abortion legislator conveniently forgot to link to any evidence that anyone in the GOP, much less a prominent leader, wants to ban interracial marriage (probably because, well, that’s not a thing).
And the internet had thoughts.
