Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) criticized House Democrats Wednesday after the House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt.

“Bill Barr is following the law, and what’s his reward? Democrats are going to hold him in contempt,” Jordan said.

The Democrat majority House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Barr in contempt of Congress after the Attorney General refused to deliver an un-redacted version of the Mueller report.

Barr’s main objection to releasing the full report is regulations that prohibit the release of grand jury material to members of Congress. Barr has offered Democrats to review a less redacted version of Mueller’s report, but they haven't bothered to view it.

Before the vote, Jordan claimed that Democrats want to “destroy” Barr because they are worried that he will investigate how Russian interference in the 2016 election actually began.

“I think it’s all about trying to destroy Bill Barr because Democrats are nervous he’s going to get to the bottom of everything,” Jordan said. “He’s going find out how and why this investigation started in the first place.”

“Maybe the most interesting thing, two terms he used - that frankly I find frightening,” Jordan later added. “He (Barr) said that there was in his judgment - he thinks there may have been unauthorized surveillance and political surveillance – scary terms. ”
