If only people had known about Hunter Biden’s position on the board of a Ukrainian energy company that allegedly was engaging in illegal practices before the 2020 election — oh wait, those of us who were paying attention knew. I mean, it’s not like social media and establishment media companies covered up for that information by censoring or just flat out not reporting on the New York Post article related to it — oh wait, that happened too, huh?
Fast forward almost eight months later and lo and behold the Department of Justice (DOJ) is looking into Ukrainian company Burisma Holdings “for potential illegal lobbying,” according to POLITICO.
Of course, Hunter Biden isn’t being implicated in this investigation as of this writing. However, Biden and his lawyer didn’t respond to POLITICO’s requests for comment.
POLITCO reported:
The firm, Blue Star Strategies, took on as a client the Ukrainian energy company Burisma while Hunter Biden served on its board. Republican operatives’ efforts to investigate Burisma and the alleged corruption that surrounded the firm were at the heart of the first Trump impeachment[…]
One focus of the investigation is whether the firm failed to comply with disclosure requirements under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, a law that requires Americans to disclose lobbying and public affairs work for foreign officials and political parties. There is no indication that Hunter Biden is a target of the investigation into Blue Star. Karen Tramontano, one of Blue Star's co-founders, testified that Hunter Biden did not direct any of the firm’s work for Burisma.
It still remains to be seen if Biden will eventually be investigated for the contents of a laptop that was discovered at a Delaware repair shop after reportedly being dropped off and left there in April 2019.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani gave the New York Post a copy of some of the contents of the laptop in question last October before the 2020 election.
While this investigation might not have a connection to the contents of Biden’s laptop, there are emails concerning President Joe Biden’s son’s dealings with Ukrainians connected to Burisma.
