A government-created board of total morons over in Nancy Pelosi’s hometown of San Francisco have reportedly put together a plan to pay every “eligible” black resident a one-time payout of $5 million, including to convicted drug criminals.
Yes, I wrote that correctly. $5 million. Per person. To include drug criminals.
The San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee, which was put together back in 2020 by the city’s human rights council, sent the San Francisco City Council a 60-page proposal explaining why they think black folks should get Hollywood-level payouts.
CNN notes:
To be eligible for reparations, San Francisco residents must be 18 years or older, have been identifying as Black or African American on public documents for at least 10 years, and meet two of eight additional criteria, including having been born or migrating to the city between 1940 and 1996 as well as showing proof of at least 13 years of residency; Having been incarcerated “by the failed War on Drugs” or being the direct descendant of someone who was; Being a descendant of someone who was enslaved through US chattel slavery before 1865; Having been displaced between 1954 and 1973 or being a descendant of someone who did; Being part of a marginalized group who experienced lending discrimination in the city between 1937 and 1968 or in “formerly redlined” communities within the city between 1968 and 2008, according to the committee’s plan.
The plan adds that each $5 million check “would compensate the affected population for the decades of harms that they have experienced and will redress the economic and opportunity losses that Black San Franciscans have endured, collectively, as the result of both intentional decisions and unintended harms perpetuated by City policy.”

Now, it’s important to note at the onset here that this particular committee has exactly zero ability to actually implement reparations. All they can do is write up their harebrained notions in a proposal to (hopefully) be squashed by people who passed fifth grade math and have a modicum of basic common sense.
It’s also important to note that these idiots are being paid with taxpayer cash to come up with this nonsense, meaning California residents who can barely afford to put gas in their cars are shucking out craploads of money for self-aggrandizing bureaucrats to dream up lottery jackpot-sized buckets of still more taxpayer cash to shower on a particular voting base certain "oppressed" minorities.
If it weren’t bad enough that these people actually think shucking out $5 million to select black folks is a swell idea, the committee also proposed that for the next 250 years, San Francisco use tax money to supplement the incomes of black households to raise them to the city’s median income (which in 2022 was $97,000), and for the city offer a formal apology to black people.
I’d like a formal apology, too - from anyone stupid enough to think this is at all a reasonable, logical, justifiable, or otherwise good idea. Your idiocy is why we can’t have nice things.
