Golden State Warriors guard Andre Iguodala thinks his teammate Steph Curry is the closest thing you’ll get to Jesus this side of eternity.
No seriously.
Iguodala gave an interview with sports broadcaster and NFL Hall-of-Famer Shannon Sharpe in which he said that when he came to the Warriors in 2013, he thought Steph’s consistency as a person and athlete made him comparable to the Almighty.
I’m not insinuating anything here or reading too much between the lines, he said this verbatim.
"I'm saying to myself, 'I think I've met the closest thing to Jesus Christ.' He doesn't stray away from who he is in terms of who he is as a person. So you know what you're getting night in and night out."

While Curry’s ability to make long-range shots in game is almost supernatural, he’s a far cry from the divine and perfect nature of Jesus.
He has a tendency to be egotistical, disrespectful of opponents, and he’s one heck of a complainer. Curry also has a significant history of getting chippy and unnecessarily physical with opponents when he doesn’t get his way.
I don’t know what kind of picture Iguodala has in his head of what Jesus is like, but it must not be a good one if he thinks this entitled idiot is strikingly similar to him.
Then again, anything the brings to mind this classic line can't be all bad:
