Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer threatened Trump-nominated Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh Wednesday, telling them they will “pay the price” if they rule against abortion providers in this week’s high profile abortion case.
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price, Schumer yelled into the mic before a crowd of abortion supporters.
“You won’t know what hit you if you go through with these awful decisions,” he added (while not specifying exactly what “awful decisions” he was referring to given that SCOTUS has yet to decide anything on the case).

The case, June Medical Services v. Russo, centers on a new Louisiana law that requires abortion clinics, of which there are three in the state, to have admitting privileges to a nearby hospital in the event of a medical emergency stemming from an abortion procedure. Proponents of the law point to a slew of incidents in which women have suffered or even died from a lack of emergency medical care following botched abortions, while critics say the law is unnecessary and will restrict abortion access.
