A new California bill would school policies requiring parents to be notified if their child changes gender identity.

California State Assemblyman Chris Ward - a Democrat, of course - is working to pass a bill that would ban public schools from implementing policies requiring parents to be notified if their child changes their “gender identity” at school, according to an article by the Del Mar Times.

If passed, Assembly Bill 1955  would ban schools and school boards from requiring employees to notify a parent about any change in a “pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless otherwise required by law, as provided.” The bill would essentially allow schools to help socially "transition" a child, including calling them by a different name and allowing them to use gender-specific facilities that don't correspond to their biological sex, all without the knowledge of their own parents.

Ward said the only exception his bill allows is “if a staff member found the student to be at a reasonable risk of harm to themselves.”

Advocates of bills like this one have claimed that gay and "trans" children are being “outed” and forced to reveal their gender identity to their parents before they want to thanks to school policies requiring parental notification if a child wants to go by a different name or pronouns than what's in their record.

“Forced outing policies that require exposing students’ (identities) without their consent harm everyone — parents and guardians, families, school staff, but unnecessarily, students,” Ward said.

Of course, Ward - and his bill - completely disregard the right of parents to know what’s going on with their underage children in their tax-funded school. Unfortunately, the state of California is no stranger to passing bills like this one as they push to keep parents in the dark about the indoctrination of their children.
