Back in January, California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris went off in defense of "Empire" star Jussie Smollett, saying his claims of being attacked by two MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporters on the streets of Chicago was on par with a "modern-day lynching."
On Monday, while on tour for her 2020 presidential run, Harris was again asked how she felt about the case and her earlier comments in defense of Smollett, now that Chicago police sources say they believe the actor may have paid two Nigerian brothers to stage the entire attack.
Suffice it to say, Harris' latest comments didn't go so well. But since I'm not sure how to transcribe so much stuttering, check it out:
.@KamalaHarris's face and pause when asked about her previous tweet that the attack on Jussie Smollett was a "modern-day lynching" is something to behold

Harris has yet to retract, or even address, her earlier tweets calling Smollett "one of the kindest, most gentle human beings" she knows and comparing his alleged (and now potentially debunked) attack as a "modern day lynching."
Perhaps as a former prosecutor, district attorney and attorney general, Harris should remember that it's important to wait for all the facts before rendering judgement - even when it's not politically convenient.
