Texas Gov. Abbott Vows to Arrest Dems Who Fled State to Avoid Vote, Abolish Filibuster

You’ve got to give left politicians one thing: they really know how to skirt the rules that apply to the plebs. But, another thing they do is sometimes ignore the consequences for their actions.

By now, you’ve probably heard of the stunt Texas State Democrats pulled by chartering a private plane and leaving Texas for Washington D.C. in order to “press Congress and the Biden administration to pass federal voting rights legislation,” according to the New York Post.

But perhaps the main point of the Texas Democrats was to call for the end of the filibuster by, ironically, fleeing the state - in essence by engaging in a different kind of filibuster.

Ingraham played a clip of Texas State Representative Jasmine Crockett (D) speaking only of the effort to try and abolish the filibuster.

"For me, it’s going to be more so of an ask for him to push as hard as he can," Crockett said. "This filibuster — we have to do away with it. Because, once again, it’s Republicans being allowed to be obstructionists."

Hypocrite says what?

The Democrat members of Texas’ House of Representatives could be seen smiling and giving peace signs while flying on said private jet en route to the nation’s capital.

For those wondering how and why the Texas Dems were able to be maskless aboard the plane, the National Business Aviation Association provided an explanation back in February.

"Private conveyances for personal, non-commercial use are exempt from the rule, meaning passengers of private Part 91 operations are not required to comply," the NBAA wrote.

In response to the ordeal, Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Monday evening that the offending Democrats “will be arrested and brought back to the Capitol” upon their return to Texas.

“Isn’t this the most un-Texan thing you’ve ever heard — Texans running from a fight? They’re quitters,” the governor said.

“Once they step back into the state they will be arrested and brought back to the Capitol and we will be conducting business," Abbott vowed later in the interview.
