In an interview on the Steve Malzberg Show Friday morning, GOP front-runner Donald Trump said that he plans to participate in the next Fox News Republican presidential debate in March.
“I’ll be there,” said Trump. “I have no objection to being there.”
“And that had nothing to do with Megyn Kelly," he continued, "the fact that I went out of the last one had to do with a memo that was sent out by Fox that was a little bit taunting and I said it was inappropriate."
“And what happened is because I didn’t do it, I raised $6 million for the vets. So I wouldn’t have changed places. I mean, I did the right thing,” he argued.
Trump skipped out on the last Fox News debate just before the Iowa caucuses took place on Feb. 1.
Leading up to the debate, he complained via Twitter about Fox News host and scheduled moderator Megyn Kelly, calling her “really biased” and "a lightweight reporter" incapable of treating him fairly.
In response to Trump’s attacks on Kelly, Fox News released a statement criticizing the real estate mogul for his conduct on social media. Trump officially pulled out of the debate shortly thereafter.
