One common thing that’s often said about vegans is - if you didn’t know the person you’re sitting next to was one, just wait, they’ll be sure to tell you soon enough.
An Australian woman took an extreme step to making sure her neighbors knew of her vegan lifestyle by taking them to court because they had the audacity to…barbecue meat.
"They've put it there so I smell fish, all I can smell is fish. I can't enjoy my backyard, I can't go out there," Cilla Carden told Australia's 9News.
Carden lives in the suburbs of the Australian city of Perth and decided to sue her neighbors because she’s fed up, not only with the smell of meat around her home but hates that her neighbors smoke cigarettes and that their children play basketball.
"It's been devastating, it's been turmoil, it's been unrest, I haven't been able to sleep," she said.
Carden actually took her complaints to the Supreme Court.
"It's deliberate, that's what I told the courts,” she said. “It’s deliberate."
One of Carden’s neighbors gave in to her complaints by removing his barbecue pit and telling his kids to stop playing basketball. The other issued a statement to the Australian news outlet:
“Ms. Carden’s demands were proven to be not reasonable and indeed were to the detriment of the other owners ability to enjoy their lots in a reasonable and acceptable manner.”
The offbeat woman appeared to be “sad” during her interview with the news station and honestly just revealed herself to be a whiny little baby.
Thankfully, a Supreme Court Judge and the State Administrative Tribunal saw how foolish this vegan was and chose to side with her neighbors and dismiss this ridiculous case, according to 9News.
