Ah, Socialism. The real economic system that rewards the “haves” while the “have-nots” get the scraps.

While his people are starving and facing unbelievable inflation of the most basic of goods, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was made a gourmet lamb dinner by celebrity chef Nusret Gokce, more famously known as “Salt Bae.”

Even though Gokce has since deleted pictures and videos documenting Maduro’s lavish meal, video has emerged on YouTube that shows Maduro enjoying his lamb — personally cut and cooked by Gokce — and marveling at a personalized humidor box of cigars.

Take a look:

Meanwhile, in his home country, Venezuelans face an insurmountable inflation rate that is expected to reach 1,000,000 percent this year.

As a frame of reference, a dinner at Gokce’s restaurant in New York City can range from $300 for a dinner for two all the way to $1,400 for a dinner for four. Obviously, there are variations to what the bill might come out to, but those are actual examples from people who’ve dined at one of Gokce’s establishments.

If you take the possible one million percent inflation rate into account, the $1,400 dinner would cost Venezuelans 1.4 billion bolivars (Bs).

Socialism only works for the people in power, as evidenced by the “perks” that Maduro enjoys while his people live in impoverished misery.
