The hypocrisy coming from major corporations concerning what they appear to approve of and disapprove of is astounding. As long as someone isn’t inciting violence or call for people to carry out violent attacks, you should be allowed your right to freedom of speech — no matter how disgusting the comments might be. Racism, sexism, homophobia and whatever other PC term used to scare people into controlling what they say should be allowed to be said, if for no other reason than to know where actual racists, sexists and others stand.

The hypocrisy comes in when you basically have attempts at ruining your livelihood because you might doubt the results of an election, but others who publicly and with glee espouse racist and anti-Semitic beliefs will eventually be forgiven if you normally repeat everything the bought-and-paid-for media pushes out to the public.

Case in point is ViacomCBS bringing back racist, anti-Semitic actor TV personality, podcaster and former Mr. Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), a ViacomCBS MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson said the following concerning the return of Cannon:

Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms. Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team. On a separate note, we just learned that he tested positive for COVID and have reached out to wish him a speedy recovery.

Gotta love how celebrities and the companies that promote them try to distract you from their employment by attempting to elicit sympathy through a positive Chinese coronavirus test.

Cannon used a half-assed apology in July of 2020 to make a series of demands to ViacomCBS after he went on a racist, anti-Semitic rant on his "Breakfast Club" podcast days earlier about how white people and Jews are lesser than black people for the lack of “melanin” in the skin.

Here’s some of what Cannon said in 2020:

“When you have a person who has the lack of pigment, the lack of melanin that they know they will be annihilated, therefore they know that however they got the power, they have a lack of compassion, melanin comes with compassion.”

“Melanin comes with soul, that we call it soul, we soul brothers and sisters, that’s the melanin that connects us so the people that don’t have it, are, and I’m going to say this carefully, are a little less and where the term actually comes from, and I’m going to bring it back around to Minister Farrakhan where they may not have the compassion.”

“They have to rob, steal, rape, kill and fight in order to survive. So these people who didn’t have what we have, and when I say ‘we’, I speak of the melanated people, they had to be savages, they had to be barbaric because they’re in these Nordic mountains, they’re in these rough torrential environments, so they’re acting as animals, so they’re the ones closer to animals, they’re the ones that are actually the true savages,” Cannon says, suggesting that white people and Jewish people are the ‘true savage.’”

“So I say all that to say the context when we speak of ‘Jewish people,’ white people, Europeans, the Illuminati — they were doing that as survival tactics to stay on this planet.”

Not only was that literally the definition of racism, but it was clearly the rantings of a black supremacist.

Should Cannon be fired? No. Why? Because nothing he said was illegal. Was it in poor taste? Absolutely. But that’s the difference between most on the right with a growing portion of the left — a lot of us would sneer at the comments, but never call for that person to lose their livelihood.

The left, however, wouldn’t mind if people who don’t think exactly like them simply disappeared.
