Only a few short weeks after its launch, Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly shutting down CNN+ after the paid streaming service drew a pathetically lackluster viewership in its premiere month.

It was reported earlier this week that Warner Bros. had pulled its external marketing budget for CNN+ and laid off CNN’s longtime chief financial officer while considering the options after the service, into which CNN had reportedly sunk a whopping $300 million, pulled a mere 10,000 daily viewers from about 150,000 total subscribers.

Variety now reports that according to two sources, the studio is expected to shut down the entire operation (the same streaming network for which Chris Wallace left Fox News).

Variety reports:

Chris Licht, the incoming CEO of CNN, sent a memo to staffers Thursday morning about “an important meeting” to be held at noon, and is at that time expected to inform staffer about the decision, these people said. Licht has already told Andrew Morse, the CNN executive vice president who oversees the newly-launched streaming-video outlet, of the decision, these people said. Morse could not be reached for immediate comment.
