A leftist Democrat lawmaker, who has held many elected positions in California since 2006, apparently doesn’t even know how to say the Pledge of Allegiance.

Councilman Kevin de Leon was asked to lead the pledge at a Los Angeles city council meeting Tuesday morning. It didn’t go well.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…under visible, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…for which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all...ugh," de Leon can be heard saying in a video of the meeting.

Video of his attempt to recite the Pledge Of Allegiance has gone viral.

This isn’t the 54 year-old Democrats first bizarre screw up to go viral.  In 2014 while in the state senate, video of him making fact free statements on firearms during a news conference went viral (see below).

"This is a ghost gun," he said, holding up a rifle at a 2014 press conference. "This right here has ability, with a .30-caliber clip, to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second."

Uh-huh.

De Leon has previously served in the state Senate as its Democratic majority leader, and in the state Assembly.
