Newly-appointed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre served up a word salad sandwich with a side of "...say what?" on Monday when asked about President Joe Biden's tweet alleging that raising taxes on corporations and CEOs would bring down inflation.

"The president's Twitter account posted the other day, 'You want to bring down inflation? Let's make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.' How does raising taxes on corporations bring down inflation?" asked Fox News' Peter Doocy.

"Are you talking about a specific tweet?" Jean-Pierre asked, playing dumb.

She then consulted her notes as Doocy repeated the question, quoting Biden's statement.

"Look, you know, we have talked about this this past year, making sure the wealthiest among us are paying their fair share. And that is important to do," she continued, reading verbatim from the podium.

And it only got worse from there. Watch:

The Biden administration has been slammed for its lack of answers to the increasing problem of inflation, as grocery prices have skyrocketed nearly 11 percent year-over-year and the national average price of gas hovers around $4.50 a gallon.

But when it comes to parents desperately trying to find baby formula or families having to cough up more for everything from food to housing to electricity, it looks like they'll have to find answers somewhere besides the Biden White House.
