Inside Politics anchor Dana Bash invited several CNN contributors on Friday to question efforts made by the Trump administration to ensure future election integrity. The segment was based on a CNN report that highlighted several notable (and, in their view, infamous) individuals aligned with President Trump’s goals.
A point of issue was an semi-failed Executive Order signed by Trump in March, which has caused his allies to pursue alternative avenues to secure national elections.
CNN national political writer Fredreka Schouten, one of the two story authors, asked her fellow panelists to: “… just think for a second of what that might mean for the midterms, if in order to register to vote, you had to find a birth certificate or your passport or naturalization papers. Think how that would change the nature of the electorate.”
