Florida Adopts Race-Based Academic Goals

The Florida Department of Education is under fire for its new educational goals. Under the new standards, 88% of white students should reach reading proficiency by 2018. The same FLDOE goals state that schools should aim for only 74% proficiency among black students. On a completely unrelated subject, AFSCME President Larry Saunders and Rev. Al Sharpton attacked those who supported holding all students to the same standard.
