State Won’t ‘Speculate’ on Next Israeli Gov’t, Invokes Tolerance and Respect For Minorities

State Department spokesman Ned Price on Monday declined to “speculate” about the make-up of a yet-to-be-formed Israeli government, but alluding to concerns about the presence of controversial far-right lawmaker said the U.S.-Israel relationship is based on a shared “commitment to the value of open democratic societies, tolerance, [and] respect for civil society including minorities.”
