George Stephanopoulos on Sunday advanced the liberal quest to further politicize political differences by holding Trump administration officials “accountable” for “wrongdoing.” He pressed incoming White House chief-of-staff Ron Klain about “criminality” during Trump’s years. Stephanopoulos noted that President-elect Biden “has expressed a preference that he doesn’t want his presidency consumed by Trump investigations,” but pointed out “that has raised some concerns” amongst Democrats.
He quoted a Congressman’s claim that not holding Trump officials accountable “emboldens criminality by our national leaders” and enables “lawlessness and authoritarianism.” Stephanopoulos then asked: “How do you balance moving forward with getting accountability?”
