Top UN Official Hopes Upcoming Envoys’ Meeting Could Lead to ‘Pathway to Recognition’ of the Taliban

The U.N. plans to host a meeting of Afghanistan envoys from around the world at the beginning of May and, according to U.N.’s deputy secretary-general, hopes it will put the international community on the path towards “principled recognition” of the Taliban.
