Speaking on the House floor yesterday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) claimed Planned Parenthood has “never, ever, ever done one mammogram, because they are not certified to do mammograms.”

Gohmert advocated strongly for stripping Planned Parenthood of its millions in annual federal funding after nearly a dozen undercover videos, recently published by the pro-life Center for Medical Progress, appear to show Planned Parenthood officials haggling over the sale of body parts harvested from aborted babies.

Gohmert explained:

In the history of Planned Parenthood, they have never, ever, ever done one mammogram, because they are not certified to do mammograms. They bring people in and refer them out to get their mammograms. So, for those of us –like in my case, three daughters and a wife of 37 years –look, I want good women’s healthcare. So, let’s fund it. But, let’s give it directly to the facilities that will do the mammograms and not Planned Parenthood – for them to take their cut.”

According to Planned Parenthood’s 2013-14 annual report, the taxpayer-funding abortion giant did 487,029 “breast exams/breast care” services that year; however, the report doesn’t make a single mention of mammograms. Cancer prevention services, which also included things like pap tests and HPV vaccinations, accounted for just nine percent of all Planned Parenthood services that year. [intermarkets_ad]

Color me stunned, but I do believe Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) just admitted to hating abortion.

Not that it will have any impact on the way she votes on the matter, but the Democratic House minority leader admitted that “we all” hate abortion during her weekly press briefing on Thursday.

After accusing Republicans of a “lack of respect for women” because “they don’t believe in family planning,” Pelosi employed the Royal "We":

"I’ve never – you know, as a mom and a grandmother and all the rest, I respect people’s view on subjects – but I cannot understand why, if you abhor and you view abortion negatively, as we all do, that you don’t understand the value of family planning."

Someone really ought to alert Planned Parenthood considering that, in 2014, they awarded Pelosi their highest honor, the Margaret Sanger Award (never mind that Margaret Sanger was a racist who saw abortion as a way to keep minority populations in check -- but, I digress).

Imagine waking up one morning believing you had only hours to live, only to be granted a second shot at life. That’s exactly what happened to Richard Glossip, a death-row inmate in Oklahoma charged with plotting the 1997 murder of hotel owner Barry Van Treese, after his lawyers filed the Hail Mary of all appeals and snagged him an emergency stay of execution.

According to NBC News, Glossip was granted the temporary reprieve from death mere hours before he was to receive a lethal injection at 3 p.m. on Wednesday after his defense attorneys filed new evidence they say will clear Glossip of any wrongdoing. This new evidence reportedly involves a witness who says the actual killer, Justin Sneed, set up Glossip for orchestrating the murder of his former boss.

In order to review this claim, the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals pushed Glossip’s scheduled execution back to Sept. 30.

Several high-profile characters, including Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), former Dallas Cowboys head coach Barry Switzer and actress Susan Sarandon have championed the crusade for Glossip’s release.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Glossip is one of only three inmates currently slated for death row in the state.

No matter where you stand on the death penalty, if this guy is really innocent, it will be one heck of a close call.

Only a week after Office Depot refused to print copies of a pro-life prayer for Chicago resident Maria Goldstein, Fr. Frank Pavone, the national director of Priests for Life and the author of the prayer, is now encouraging fellow pro-lifers to print copies of his pro-life prayer specifically at Office Depot.

Goldstein, a Roman Catholic, had taken the flyer to her local Chicago-area Office Depot last week to make copies, only to be told that the store wouldn’t fill her order because the flyer violated the company’s policy against hate speech.

Office Depot spokesperson Karen Dennings originally told the Chicago Tribune that “the flier contained material that advocates the persecution of people who support abortion rights.”

In fact, Pavone’s prayer actually called for God’s “mercy for those who teach others to reject parenthood.”

As reported by LifeNews, Office Depot has since issued an apology for refusing to print Goldstein’s flyer, which included facts about Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices, after the Thomas More Society agreed to represent her in a discrimination lawsuit against the office supply store.

The federal government just awarded a $386,597 grant, courtesy of the American taxpayer, to the University of Arizona to study and train doctors who don’t know they’re racist against Hispanics to stop being racist against Hispanics.

According to the grant, which was awarded by the National Institute of Health:

Research shows that while stereotyping, prejudice and acts of discrimination can be conscious and deliberate, the expression of bias among healthcare providers is often unintentional because many hold negative attitudes and stereotypes at an implicit or unconscious level. Thus, implicit verbal and nonverbal biases may leak into the way residents interact with Hispanic patients, but training residents to control thei (sic.) verbal and nonverbal implicit biases can mitigate the negative effect on patients during a clinical encounter.

The project description also implies that an inherently racist doctor who doesn’t know he’s racist might not be able to stop being racist – however, he might be able to control his racism, which he doesn't know he has.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has come under fire recently for offering a class called “The Literature of 9/11,” a freshman seminar chock full of anti-America, terrorist-sympathizing material that supposedly holds no bias or agenda whatsoever and should be completely embraced by the academic community.

A recent article in The College Fix explains the course offers students plenty of reading material that’s critical of America and her values, but none from the perspectives of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks or those left behind to mourn lost loved ones.

The course includes the following six required (and clearly unbiased) reading materials:

The Reluctant Fundamentalist, by Moshin Hamid

This fascinating little tale tells the story of Changez, a Pakistani immigrant and Princeton grad living in New York City at the time of the 9/11 attacks. In the book, the main character -- despite living in America and benefiting from its economy and educational system -- describes his feelings following the attacks as such:

About 62 percent of households headed up by illegal aliens living in the United States are on some form of welfare – more than twice the percentage of households headed up by native-born persons that receive government assistance.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) just released a report detailing the amount of welfare used by illegal aliens in the U.S. Using 2012 data, the CIS analysis showed roughly 57 percent of households headed up by an illegal alien received food assistance, and about half had at least one member on Medicaid.

Comparatively, about 30 percent of households under a native-born person in the U.S. receive welfare. About 22 percent of these households get food assistance, and about 23 percent have at least one person on Medicaid.

CIS noted in its study that “illegal immigrant households primarily benefit from food programs and Medicaid through their U.S.-born children.”

The report also noted that about 87 percent of households headed by an illegal alien with children were on some form of government assistance.

Most babies’ births are met with balloons and tiny embroidered socks, hugs and tears of joy. Not Gianna Jessen’s.

During a congressional hearing Wednesday, Jessen, an abortion survivor, shared with members of Congress the heartbreaking story of her own birth -- a story that began when her mother, a 19-year-old college student was advised by Planned Parenthood at seven and a half months pregnant to have a late-term saline abortion.

Babies aborted through a saline abortion are slowly burned alive over several days by a toxic solution that is injected into the amniotic fluid surrounding them. The mother is then induced and the baby is usually delivered dead.

But against the nearly insurmountable odds, Jessen was born alive. The abortion wasn’t without its lasting consequences, though, as Jessen was ultimately diagnosed with cerebral palsy caused by a lack of oxygen from the saline.

While she said she forgives her biological mother for attempting to abort her, Jessen warned members of the House Judiciary Committee that America “will have to give an account as a nation before God for the murder of over 50 million children in the womb.”

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee held the first in a series of congressional hearings into allegations that Planned Parenthood is illegally selling body parts from aborted babies, a claim first launched by the pro-life Center for Medical Progress in its recently published undercover videos. In the tapes, Planned Parenthood officials discuss compensation for fetal tissue harvested from aborted babies and handed over to researchers.

During the hearing, Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) referenced the dissenting opinion of Justice Anthony Kennedy following the 2000 Supreme Court case Stenberg v. Carhart, which struck down a Nebraska law banning some late-term abortions. Afterward, Goodlatte asked witness Priscilla Smith, a director and senior fellow at the Program for the Study of Reproductive Justice at Yale Law School, a very simple question regarding a particularly gruesome form of abortion.

After a little verbal wiggling, Smith answers pretty directly.

Goodlatte quoted from Justice Anthony Kennedy’s dissenting opinion:

“The fetus can be alive at the beginning of the dismemberment process and can survive for at time while its limbs are being torn off.

Human depravity really knows no bounds.

Only a few weeks after the world lost its collective mind over the shooting death of Cecil the African Lion by a Minnesota dentist, a Houston woman has been arrested for one of the most disturbing animal abuse cases imaginable.

A press release by the Department of Justice states that 24-year-old Ashley Nicole Richards has been convicted of producing a type of pornography called “animal crush” videos. Apparently, it’s a thing.

According to the DoJ press release:

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) defines the “crush” fetish as a cruel and illegal genre of pornography in which women are videotaped or photographed mutilating small animals for the sexual gratification of viewers.  In crush fetish materials, women are depicted, usually barefoot or in high heels, stepping on (or crushing), torturing and killing different species of animals, ranging from crawfish, crabs and insects to rodents, rabbits, kittens, puppies, cats, dogs and other mammals.

The report added:

Previous court records also indicated that during the videos, Richards is often scantily clad and wearing a Mardi Gras-type mask.  As she tortured the animals, she engaged in sexually charged dialogue meant to arouse the viewer.
