An Afghani migrant was arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Las Vegas - and the young woman’s father may have just earned himself Dad of the Year.

Surveillance video from the Las Vegas Justice Court on January 23 shows the moment Glenn Cromwell, Jr. punched 59-year-old Yousuf Azami square in the face as Azami stood in the hall just outside the courtroom where he was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on kidnapping, lewdness and sex assault charges against Cromwell’s daughter. A whole host of people, including several officers, immediately rushed to the scene and began pulling Cromwell away, but not until after he’d laid the alleged rapist flat on his back.

According to prosecutors, the victim told police back in September that Azami, who was born in Afghanistan, had raped her in his home. The girl, who was 14 or 15 at the time of the alleged incident, said she was standing outside a week dispensary looking for something to “smoke or eat” when Azari approached. She said she got in his car and he drove her to his apartment, where he sexually assaulted her. She claimed she was later able to get out of the house and found a passerby, telling him she’d been raped and needed to call the police.

Azami has denied the rape allegations as well as having any knowledge of the victim's age. Meanwhile, Cromwell has now been charged with battery.

Not, I'm sure, that he much cares.
