A House Democrat will introduce a new resolution in Congress this week demanding “reparations” for black Americans.
House Democrat Summer Lee, a little-known congresswoman from Pennsylvania, is looking to make her mark this week with a new measure titled “Reparations Now,” calling for the federal government to spent trillions of dollars’ as their “moral and legal obligation” to black Americans for slavery that ended nearly 200 years ago.
In a speech entitled at an event on Capitol Hill titled “Why We Can’t Wait: Advancing Reparative Justice in Our Lifetime,” Lee admitted the intent behind the bill is to “make sure that we’re building [society] in our image.”
“This is a moment in time where societies are shaped [and] new societies are built. We should be the ones who are shaping it,” said Lee.
Recently-ousted congresswoman Cori Bush joined Lee’s event, claiming that black Americans today are owed money for the suffering of other black people - who current black Americans may or may not actually be related to - who suffered under slavery and racial segregation.

“From the first shackled bodies brought to these shores — and those that didn’t make it to the shores — to the grueling, back-breaking, murderous work done on plantations that built America’s wealth, to the federal officials who enslaved human beings while they wrote our laws even here in this building, America has been cashing checks written in Black blood.”
“Their real intention is to build up whatever comes next in [Trump’s] image, and we better fight like hell to make sure that we’re building it in our image,” she said.
I’m getting Tower-of-Babel images here, and that didn’t exactly end well.
Lee’s fellow Democrat Representative Ayanna Presley recently introduced a bill to create a federal commission to investigate the impact of slavery and identify a plan for reparations to African American salve descendants.
