There are only four teams left on the road to the Super Bowl.
Arguably what will be the best game this weekend, the Green Bay Packers will travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks in the NFC Championship. These two teams have not faced each other since week one of this season. Since then these two teams have changed quite a bit. Both teams started out mediocre but have come alive since. The question still remains, how healthy is Aaron Rodgers? With a well balanced offense, the Packers have a viable running game with Eddie Lacy and two great weapons in Randal Cobb and Jordy Nelson. Will that be enough to beat Richard Sherman and his monstrous defense?
Green Bay is going to have a hard time trying to stop the run, period, whether its Russell Willson running the ball or Marshawn "Beast Mode” Lynch. The passing game for Seattle could be better. Paul Richardson and Doug Baldwin aren't household names but they do get the job done. If the Seahawks go run heavy this weekend, I can see them holding off the Packers. However, if Rodgers can spread the ball around successfully, then the game can fall into Green Bay’s favor.
Last week, as I predicted, Andrew Luck didn't need “luck” to outplay his former predecessor, Peyton Manning. So now Luck and his unpredictable Indianapolis Colts will go to Foxboro to play “Tommy Terrific” and the New England Patriots. A team that has their eyes on adding a fourth Lombardi Trophy to the case, the Patriots showed some skill in defeating the Baltimore Ravens with some trick plays. Julian “EdelArm” and an “Ineligible" Shane Vereen helped prove that McDaniels and Belichick still have something up their “cut-off sleeves.”
The last meeting between the Colts and the Patriots didn't end too well for the Colts. In fact it was a shellacking. It was due to the emergence of Jonas Grey who took over Stevan Ridley who suffered a season ending injury. Grey rushed for 199 yards and four touchdowns against a similar Colts defense. Against the Ravens the Pats lacked a running game and Grey was a healthy scratch. Will he suit up against the Colts or will it be Blount and company?
