As if the internet wasn’t trying hard enough to discredit Ted Cruz with speculations that link his looks to things like the lead singer of Stryper and even the Zodiac killer, now a woman who looks eerily similar to the Republican presidential candidate is looking to cash in with the resemblance.
The internet flew into a storm after a screen shot of 21-year-old Searcy Hayes from her appearance of "The Maury Show" last week began making the rounds on social media.
Even “The Maury Show” likened the resemblance to “Ted Cruz in drag.”
Hayes was on the show to determine the paternity of her three-year-old son after she had apparently slept with five different men, a fairly standard situation for “Maury.”
To make this situation even more unsettling, Hayes and her fiancé, 25-year-old Freddie Green, have been offered $10,000 to film a six-minute sex tape. The couple has reportedly agreed.
“We wanted Searcy because overnight she became a viral meme,” a spokesman from porn website XHamster told the Huffington Post. “I think a lot of XHamster viewers really wanted to see her in action.”
Exactly who would find the sex acts of a female version of Ted Cruz appealing is beyond us.
This is especially ironic since Hayes doesn’t even know who Cruz is. She’s apparently under the impression that Cruz is the current president of the United States and is running for reelection.
“I don’t know his positions and I’ve never seen him, so I don’t know if he’s done a good enough job to be reelected,” she told HuffPo.
When HuffPo pointed out Cruz isn’t president yet, Hayes replied, “Well, yeah, I don’t know anything about him.”
The couple was hoping to buy a new truck and pay off their house with the $10,000, but we aren’t so sure that money will go so far as they think it will.
At least Green is excited about Hayes' fifteen seconds of fame.
"It’s kind of exciting and shocking to know she’s famous — she’s more famous than Madonna!” he said. “I’m with a star.”
For all we know, the joke may be on us -- just look at the Kardashians. One of them does a sex tape and now the tabloids just can't get enough of any of them.
