Fire Burns Down Fire Extinguisher Factory

Ben Graham | March 20, 2015

In an ironic turn of events, a Chicago factory responsible for making fire extinguishers caught fire. The fire began late last night and called for a hazardous materials response that required 156 firefighters and 26 pieces of equipment.

Luckily, responders were able to contain the fire solely to factory itself. The hazmat response was called off around 4 a.m. this morning, though fire crews were still dousing hotspots that laid underneath the rubble.

No injuries have been reported, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Another fire was reported today in Fishers, New York where a fire also started overnight in one of the towns firehouses for an unknown reason. The firehouse was under renovation and now, after extensive damage, the project has been halted indefinitely.

These fires are almost as ironic as a fire that started in a firehouse in North Bellmore, New York as it was reported as "a fire inside a fire truck inside a firehouse."

Strangely enough, all of these fires were reported within this month of March. Coincidence?
