It is beyond time to take back our universities from Woke tyrants and restore them to their original purpose as institutions of higher learning.
One Florida college is leading the charge, but not without a fight.
The New College of Florida (not to be confused with New York’s pro-Hamas New School) recently announced an upcoming course in “wokeness.”
The course is scheduled for January as a month-long independent study. Its description, obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, calls the woke movement “a kind of cult,” that practices “essentially illiberal” methods, and whose members “are capable of the most dehumanizing behavior.”
The university’s course catalog had originally named Andrew Doyle, a prominent British conservative comedian and playwright as its instructor. His syllabus balances the readings of race-baiting Critical Race activists like Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo with the publications of former Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and anti-woke author Chris Rufo. It also includes Doyle’s own publications on free speech.
But after an army of Leftists collectively wet themselves amid last week’s Presidential election, the course suddenly disappeared from the university’s handbook, on Tuesday. It remained that way until Wednesday morning when a fourth-year student ratted out her university to the Guardian for apparently reinstating the course.
She told the Leftist-rag that Doyle’s course re-appeared publicly on the university’s website at around 1:00 pm, but without his name listed.
A spokesperson, however, told the Guardian that “The status” of their internet service provider “has never officially changed during the last several days.” The university acknowledged “inconsistent screenshots of our course listings online” which show “the instructor as TBA,” but claims Doyle is still teaching it.
The New College is one of Florida’s multiple public colleges being cleansed of Left-wing indoctrination by Governor Ron DeSantis. The ivory tower “academics” who have monopolized American higher education for years are not taking his efforts very well.
