A 51-year old homeless man is accused of stealing an ambulance in order to see a dancer at a topless club in Michigan.

The man, whose name has not been released to the public, stole the ambulance from in front of a Pontiac emergency room after an emergency medical technician (EMT) left the keys in the ignition in order to rush a patient into the hospital.

Because one of the EMTs left their cell phone in the vehicle, police were able to track down the ambulance and pulled the man over near Detroit.

When asked why he had taken the vehicle, police said that the man was trying to get to a strip club.

“They asked him what was going on and he said ‘I’m going to the Booby Trap to see a dancer,’” said Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe.

“The Booby Trap” is a Detroit topless bar.  But, unfortunately for the alleged ambulance thief, even if he had succeeded in reaching his destination, it turns out that the establishment has been closed for some time.

Shockingly, the alleged ambulance thief is said to have a history of mental illness and is well-known to county authorities.
