Norwegian Physicist Shoots Himself With a Submerged Rifle -- for Science!

Ben Graham | January 28, 2016

Physicist Andreas Wahl placed himself just ten feet away from the muzzle of a rifle to show the difference between the way things move through air versus in water.

Basic gun safety dictates that you never place yourself or anyone else in the front of a loaded gun unless you plan to destroy whatever is in a bullet’s path.

At least he was wearing goggles. Safety first!

The film crew utilized high-speed cameras to capture the utterly unnecessary phenomenon that proves what everyone already knows: It’s harder to move in water than air.

We didn’t need an “intellectual” to risk life and limb to demonstrate it.
