Pennsylvania police are looking for an individual who somehow managed to smuggle nearly 150 bras out of a Wilkes-Barre Victoria's Secret store in three heists over the past month.
The Bra Bandit visited the store on three occasions. On one of those occasions the thief managed to steal 94 bras.
As a man, I know very little about purchasing women's undergarments, but apparently they are pretty expensive. The total value of the stolen bras is estimated to be nearly $6,500.
It is unclear what the thief intends to do with the stolen bras. In fact, I really don't want to know. But you have to admit that being able to walk into a high end retail store and walk out with 94 bras without anybody noticing takes skill. Or perhaps it's an inside job.
Remarkably, this is not the first instance of underwear thievery in the state of Pennsylvania. In 2013, two men with garbage bags ransacked another Victoria's Secret and got away with $8,000 worth of bras!
Now, it could be a total coincidence. The suspects may or may not be the same people. But either way, it would appear that there is a huge black market for brassieres in the Keystone State.
But this particular crime isn't limited to Pa. In 2014, a Mississippi Victoria's Secret had a whopping $10,000 worth of bras stolen.
Clearly these are not isolated incidents. This nation is experiencing a bra stealing epidemic.
Police haven't identified any suspects in any of these cases.
Pop Star Madonna also had $2,500 worth of bras stolen last year, but those bras were far more expensive than your typical Victoria's Secret fare. There were only 12 bras stolen from the Madonna photo shoot and each bra would have cost roughly $200.
But, if you're planning on going into the bra stealing business, robbing in bulk from Victoria's Secret would appear to be far more lucrative.
