Sailor Rescued After Being Stranded for Over 60 Days, Thanks God

Louis Jordan, 36, was reported missing for over 60 days after sailing out to sea for a simple day of fishing. The weather turned ugly and his boat was capsized by a rogue wave, breaking his mast and frying the boats electronics.

He was stranded at sea and survived off of smart rationing and prayers to God.

“I rationed my water to where I had drunk about a pint a day. For such a long a time I was so thirsty. And I was almost out of water, and everyday I was like please God send me some rain, send me some water. Begging God, please. And finally right before I ran out of water, finally the conditions were perfect.”

Around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jordan’s boat was spotted by a German container ship who took him aboard and contacted the Coast Guard stationed in Portsmouth, VA, telling them that they rescued Jordan 200 miles off the coast of Cape Hatteras. Jordan was airlifted by a Coast Guard helicopter crew and flown to Norfolk, VA, where he is being nursed back to health.
