Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan on Sunday helped push a Joe Biden re-election talking point as she attempted to undermine the widely held negative view of Bidenomics. Interviewing Senator tim Scott (R-SC), a Republican presidential candidate, Brennan touted a “surprisingly robust September jobs report” before championing how the number “shattered expectations” and showed “economic momentum” with “restaurant hospitality hiring back to pre-pandemic levels.”
So, she contended, “That seems to undercut your argument that the economy’s broken.”
Scott agreed “we should always celebrate the creation of jobs,” but pointed out Bidenomics has led to less spending power and “16 percent inflation since Joe Biden’s taken office” which have prompted multiple interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.
