MSNBC's The Weekend airs an ad for the ACLU, which throughout features This Land Is Your Land, written by Woody Guthrie. It's not clear whether Guthrie was a member of the Communist party, but at the very least he was a fellow traveler, and a very public, enthusiastic, fan of Stalin. It tells you all you need to know about the ACLU that it chose this of all songs to feature, and much about MSNBC that the ACLU placed its ad there.
