If your tyranny-alarms ring each time you discover that Massachusetts Senator Liz Warren (D) or one of her political ideas is in the news, you’re not alone. And if those alarms ring with greater urgency upon finding out that something associated with Warren just got Supreme Court license to continue running roughshod over people’s rights, you’re in good company, as well. In a 7-2 decision…

Remember the social media debate from a few years ago, about whether a hot dog in a bun is a “sandwich”? To coin a phrase, the question “served-up” plenty of comments. Strange interlocutors offered in-depth histories of the sandwich and the “hot dog,” and the debate distracted many people from other matters. Only each person can judge for himself or herself whether the distraction from…

On April 29, I had the opportunity to cover the economic absurdity and hubris of Joe Biden’s planned line of higher and broader tariffs against all manner of relatively inexpensive imports. I noted that tariffs directly and indirectly injure consumers and U.S. manufacturers who rely on imports to do their work, and that tariffs are government favors given to politically connected interests --…

On April 25, EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan and his tax-fed tyrants at the Environmental Protection Agency released their “Final Suite of Standards” – i.e. threats – targeting coal-based electricity generation plants. It’s a cozy-sounding name for the mandates that will, in all likelihood, see Joe Biden “make good” on his years-old promise to shut down coal plants “all across America.”…

As if taking inspiration from the legendary rock band, Genesis, the Biden FBI appears to be “turning it on again” when it comes to bullying and cajoling social media to censor our posts online. The Federalist’s Shawn Fleetwood (no relation to Fleetwood Mac) reports that, even as the Bidenistas await the Supreme Court decision in “Murthy v. Missouri” the Biden FBI is turning on their tax-…

In a case challenging facets of both the 1968 Gun Control Act and the nefarious 1934 National Firearms Act that was its godfather, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his team May 1 presented before a panel of the Fifth Circuit Federal Court their arguments against federal mandates to make residents get ATF permission to make homemade silencers, and then pay taxes on them when constructed. At…

Get this. Joe Biden, whose entire career in the White House as both vice president and president has seen the most sweeping, deep, egregious, and aggressive censorship of Americans in national history, on May 3 actually displayed the unabashed audacity to issue a statement promoting the occasion of “World Press Freedom Day.” This is not a joke. When he wasn’t busy pleasantly…

Perhaps a good way to think about Jared Bernstein is to imagine him as the titular character of a bad network sitcom called, “That’s Jared!” in which, every week, the buffoonish Chief White House Economic Advisor stumbles into another embarrassing, made-for-TV blunder. The canned laughter erupts as credits roll, and we hear the theme close with, “It could only be Jared!” Unfortunately…

It’s a step that should not be necessary in the U.S., and it reveals important evidence that many bills depicted as “defenses of rights” actually are rhetorically stylish bulwarks of anti-rights paradigms. On April 26, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee (R) signed a HB1202/SB1325, a bill allowing some - but not all - teachers working in government-run schools to exercise their inherent right to self-…

Americans who railed against Joe Biden and other political thugs who assumed “pandemic power” to lock down businesses and label some workers “essential” and others “non-essential” now have new opportunities to protest that mentality. And, in doing so, they can see how they, too, might have bought into the pernicious act of government picking winners and losers - under a different guise. In good…
